POLICY:
It is the policy of the Randolph County Detention Center that any tours conducted for the general public will be carried out in a manner that does not compromise facility security, disrupt the orderly operation of the detention center, or infringe upon the rights or integrity of any detainee, staff member, or visitor.
PROCEDURE:
Approval and Authorization
All tours of the Randolph County Detention Center must receive prior approval from the Administrator or the Sheriff of Randolph County.
Tours shall be conducted only by a detention center staff member designated by the Administrator or the Sheriff.
Access and Restrictions
Tours will not enter secure housing areas unless specifically authorized by the Administrator or the Sheriff.
Tour groups shall be limited to no more than twenty (20) individuals.
Conduct and Supervision
All tour participants are required to follow the instructions of the staff member conducting the tour. Any individual who fails to comply will be removed from the tour immediately.
Tours shall not interfere with normal detention center operations, including but not limited to visitation, meal service, or scheduled programs.
Eligibility for Participation
Individuals with outstanding criminal charges, those currently on active probation or parole, or anyone who has been incarcerated within the past twelve (12) months shall not be permitted to participate in a tour.
Cancellations and Emergencies
Tours may be postponed or canceled at any time, with or without notice, due to emergencies, security concerns, or other operational needs.
Detainee Conduct During Tours
Detainees shall conduct themselves in a respectful and orderly manner during any tour.
Nudity, profanity, horseplay, inappropriate gestures, or any behavior that violates the Detainee Handbook is strictly prohibited.
