Section 21 - Grievances Procedures
21.1 – Submission of Grievances
Detainees may submit grievances using the designated kiosk system.
21.2 – Review and Response
All grievances will be reviewed and responded to in writing within 72 hours of receipt, excluding weekends and holidays. The initial response will be provided by the shift supervisor.
If additional time is required to complete an investigation, the detainee will be notified in writing within the initial 72-hour period, including the reason for the delay and an estimated timeframe for completion.
Grievances involving emergency situations or threats to detainee welfare will be addressed as promptly as possible.
21.3 – Appeal Process
If a detainee is dissatisfied with the initial response, they may appeal the decision to the Chief Jail Administrator for further review.
21.4 – Retaliation Prohibited
No adverse or retaliatory action will be taken against any detainee for submitting a grievance in good faith.
