Section 27 - Movement of Detainees
27.1 - Movement of Detainees
During the operation of the Randolph County Detention Facility, detainees may be moved within the facility for purposes including, but not limited to, court appearances, medical needs, interviews, and other official activities. All detainees, including Trustees, shall be moved in accordance with the following procedures:
a. Detainees shall walk on the right side of the hallway with their hands placed behind their back, unless otherwise directed by a Correctional Officer.
b. Detainees shall remain in a single-file line at all times and shall not loiter or stop without authorization.
c. Detainees shall not communicate with anyone while being escorted, except when responding directly to a correctional officer.
d. When directed by correctional staff, detainees shall stop and face the wall or otherwise comply with positioning instructions.
e. Detainees shall remain silent during movement unless responding to direct instructions from facility staff.
f. Failure to comply with any provision of this section will result in a Level I rule violation.
